Deck Your Nails For Christmas

Have you decided on the nail design that you will be wearing for Christmas? Many would opt for the mesh up of the cutest Christmas nail designs around and some would leave them naked. How about matching your nails to your accessories? Read on to learn more about my inspirations for this design!

A couple of weeks ago, Abbey from Julep contacted me and asked if I would like to share my holiday look. Well.. WHY NOT?! 🙂 However, this happened right after my post on Christmas Nail Art, so it took me quite a while to get inspired again.

I was lazing around one day, scrolling through Instagram. That was when I chanced upon the Gradient-Snowflake design by LacquerShots. I fell in love with the subtle ombré and the gradual disappearance of the snow. At the same time, the image of my recent buy from Frou-Frou Sg appeared in my mind.

CELESTE Statement Necklace from Frou-Frou Sg

This was the necklace that I thought of and I went “Let’s deck my nails now!”.

Polishes used: Essence Cosmetics – You Belong To Me, 3CE – WH01
Studs: Born Pretty Store

I did not want to flood my nails with rhinestones, therefore, I decided to go with some silver studs to match the chain of the necklace. I am pretty satisfied about how it turns out! & now, my nails accessorize me.

You can match your accessories by comparing them to some pretty colours. YES, BRING YOUR ITEM TO YOUR SCREEN!

Other than matching your nails with your accessories, you can try to match them with your pretty shoes, dresses or your handbag. Let your nails be part of your Christmas, they deserve to be pretty! ❤

& that’s all for today folks! 2 days to Christmas!

Meanwhile… HAPPY POLISHING!

Stain Removal

You must be wondering who was the bad guy who did this to my nails! I will be revealing the culprit later in this post. Today, I will be sharing with you a quick tip to remove nail polish stains from your nails. Read on to learn more!

I do not always get nail polish stains. However, I would feel depress whenever it happens, just like in the picture above. There was once when my thumb got caught in the stains left behind by Sinful Colors’ Savage. I did not do anything to salvage it as I thought nothing could have been done since the acetone from nail polish removers does not even work. For one and the half months, my “naked” thumb was gross.

Stains appeared again after a recent manicure, and this time, 3 FINGERS! I know I had to do something. I texted Karise (@nailsbykarise) about it as I know that she has recently encountered with stubborn stains and has managed to remove them. & this was what she told me to do.

A little toothpaste(I used Darlie) and a nail scrubbing brush. After 6-8 minutes of scrubbing, my nails went back to normal! Better than normal (colour-wise) actually.

There are other methods in which you can adopt to remove the stains from your nails. For example, Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) and baking soda, lemon and baking soda etc. However, I have not tried them all. I have only tried using H2O2 and baking soda to lighten the yellow stains caused by the regular painting of my nails. In my opinion, it is not very effective unless you diligently do it every week or on a regular basis. In any case, a word of advice, something that is good ain’t good if used too much. Therefore, I would rather stick to yellow nails than to ruin them.

p.s. These methods that I’ve tried are found all over the net. Personally, I did not encounter any aftermath. However, if you have sensitive skin or any medical issues that concern your nails, skin and health. I would advise you not to try them out.

If you have followed me, you would’ve seen the Reindeer-Snowflake nail design that I did recently for The Nailies Christmas Collaboration. Yes, you’ve guessed it right. That pretty blue base colour (OPI Liquid Sand – Tiffany Case) was the culprit of my stains! I was really disappointed. It was such a beauty but I have no courage to use it again(unless I do not mind scrubbing).

Here I have with me three notorious polishes that stained my nails:

Left to Right: Sinful Colors – Savage, Revlon – Full House, OPI Liquid Sand – Tiffany Case

As mentioned, I did not try to remove the stains I got from Sinful Colors’ Savage, therefore, I have no idea how stubborn was the stain. For Revlon’s Full House, the stain was mild and acetone did the job.

What are some of the nail polishes that gave you a heart attack after you remove your manicure? Share with me under the comments below! It’s about time we create a list of them! </3

& that’s all for today folks! 4 more days to Christmas!

Meanwhile… MERRY POLISHING!

The Nailies Christmas Collaboration 2014 & Gift Exchange!

Hi everyone! Today, I will be re-introducing The Nailies from Singapore to you guys! If you have been following me on Instagram or Facebook, you have probably seen our monthly collaborations and some sprees that The Nailies and I have organized. Well, so who are we? Where are we from? Read on to find out more about us!

The above is our latest collaboration for Christmas! We have decided to go with Reindeer on the middle finger and Snowflake on the ring finger. Yes! Currently, we are twelve-man strong. Before the introduction, here’s a solo shot of my nails for the above collaboration.

I have followed the video tutorial on @ohmygoshpolish page and I love how my Rudolph turns out!

I am pretty surprised by the coverage of The Face Shop RD304 polish. It looks rather sheer from the bottle but this was only one coat of it!

All right! Back to The Nailies. We are a group of ladies with a common interest (you know what) that resides in Singapore! It began in 2013 when Karise (@NailsByKarise) found me wandering around on Instagram. From a group of three, including Kay (@TwentySixNails), we started introducing more people into the group! For the first half of the story, you can check out my first “Nailies Post”.

Last Christmas, we were only six-man strong. This year, we doubled!

I shall now do a brief introduction of all of us.

From Left to Right: Celestine (@CelestialWish), Kathy (@MeowsMani), Sandra (@Beefette), Kay (@TwentySixNails), Karen (@PinkPixiePie), Audree (@OhDreeNails), Priscilla (ME! @PobbyNails), Kimberlyn (@NailMachine), Shi Li (@SushiNails), Karise (@NailsByKarise), Zenna (@TheManicuredMissy) and Janice (@Manukamelts) who was not able to make it for the meet up.

Sandra and Karen are mums of two and one respectively. Janice and Kathy are cat lovers like me! Kay, Shi Li, Audree and me graduated from the university this year. Celestine, Karise, Zenna and Kimberlyn are still in the course of their tertiary education. Our age ranges from 17 to 36 and it doesn’t matter!

We did a Christmas Exchange on the 5th of December 2014. It was the Secret Santa style! This means that we get to know the recipient of our gifts beforehand. Look at all the gifts!!! ❤

& that’s Brandon (Sandra’s new born) meddling with our gifts. He is so cute!

Here are some of our recent collaborations: Daisy Nails, Fruit Nails, Sugar Rush Nails

Being part of the Nailies is one of the best experiences since the spark of my interest in nail art. Knowing that I am not alone meant a lot to me. Although we are a group of nail addicts, we do not just talk about nails. Girls talk happen all the time! HAHA. Thank you ladies for being part of my love for nails! Let’s save up SGD16 per month for future sprees! ❤

XOXO,

Priscilla
